Teacher commits suicide in library (symbolic picture)

In the Government Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya located at Old Seemapuri in Shahdara district, a teacher committed suicide by hanging himself in the library on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as Ashutosh Singh (50), resident of village Banwaripur, Bulandshahr, UP. Police have recovered a suicide note from the deceased. In the note, Ashutosh has mentioned financial constraints and not being able to repay the loan.
During the investigation, the police came to know that Ashutosh was also a victim of depression for some time. He was undergoing treatment. During the investigation, the family members also showed his medical reports to the police. Police handed over Ashutosh’s body to the family after post-mortem on Friday. The family took the body to their village in Bulandshahr. The incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the library. The video of suicide went viral on social media on Friday. The police are investigating the matter by interrogating the family members.
According to the police, Ashutosh lived with his family in Shalimar Garden Extension-1, Ghaziabad, UP. Apart from his wife, he has a son and daughter in his family. Ashutosh was working as TGT Mathematics in the Education Department of Delhi for the last 20 years. Ashutosh was teaching in Seemapuri school since 2016. He came to school from home on Thursday afternoon. After this he also taught children in school. During his vacation, he reached the library and committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan. At around 8.00 pm, the school guard saw him hanging in the library and informed the principal and the police.
The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Apart from the crime team, FSL was called. During the investigation, the police found a three-page suicide note from his bag, in which he had requested not to trouble anyone except writing the reason for his death. On examining the CCTV, the incident was found captured in it. Based on that the police is investigating the matter.
School staff say that Ashutosh did not talk much to anyone in school. Apart from the school teachers, the police are investigating the case by interrogating the family members. After initial investigation, police officials say that the reason for suicide has been revealed to be due to financial constraints and depression.
