IND vs AUS 2nd ODI Full Match Highlights: The Australian team completely surrendered before India in Indore. After the stormy batting of Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, the magical spin of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja led India to victory in the second ODI. Along with this, Team India also captured the three-match series.
In this rain-interrupted match, after playing first, India had scored 399 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs, thanks to the brilliant innings of Shreyas Iyer (105), Shubman Gill (104) and Suryakumar Yadav (72 not out). After this, rain came after 9 overs of Australian innings and then Australia got the revised target of 317 runs in 33 overs. However, the Australian team could score only 217 runs and India won the match by 99 runs.
When play started again after the rain stopped, Australia had to score 261 more runs in 144 balls. David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne were at the crease. Both of them started scoring runs rapidly in the beginning. It seemed that the Australian team would take the match to its side, but then Ashwin put the match in India’s lap with his magical spin. Australia had lost eight wickets for 140 runs in front of India’s tight bowling, but in the end Sean Abbott and Josh Hazlewood reduced the margin of defeat.
Abbott scored 54 runs in 36 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. He along with Josh Hazlewood (23) made a partnership of 77 runs for the 9th wicket. Earlier, the Australian batsmen were out on the lines of ‘Tu chal main aaya’.
David Warner scored a half-century, but he was struggling against Ashwin. In front of Ashwin’s magical spin, Warner first decided to play righty from lefty, but in the end Ashwin sent Warner to the pavilion with his carrom ball. However, Warner was not out. If he had taken DRS, the umpire would have had to change his decision.
As soon as Warner was out, the team started falling apart like a pack of cards. During this, Marnus Labuschagne (27), Josh Inglis (06), Alex Carey (14), Cameron Green (19) and Adam Zampa (05) returned to the pavilion.
For India, Ashwin took three wickets for 41 runs and Jadeja took three wickets for 42 runs. Whereas Prasidh Krishna got two successes and Mohammed Shami got one success. Ashwin sent Warner, Labuschagne and English to the pavilion.
