Mohammad Saif alias Munna (16), who was kidnapped from Mohalla Bhure Khan Gautiya of Faridpur town of Bareilly, was shot dead. On Thursday, his body was recovered from a drain in Ghosar village of Kotwali area in rural Hardoi. With the help of Hardoi police, a person has been detained and interrogation has been started.
Saif used to work at a straw shop on the bypass in Faridpur. Mother Zakira Bi told that on the evening of 11 February he had gone to the shop to take money. Did not return after that. On Monday at 11 o’clock someone called him from his son’s phone and said that Saif has been kidnapped.
Stating this he demanded Rs 10 lakh. Also threatened to kill Saif if he complained to the police. When the mother reached the mentioned place in Hardoi with some money, she did not find anyone there. After this, the police registered a missing complaint based on Zakira’s complaint.
After putting Saif’s mobile number on surveillance, Faridpur police raided a brick kiln located at Ghosar in Hardoi. Tasleem of Saif’s locality was arrested from there. On his information, Saif’s body was recovered from the drain. He was murdered by a bullet to the head. According to the police, Tasleem is constantly changing his statement regarding the reason for the incident. First he said that he was murdered over a money transaction dispute, then said that Saif was murdered after he was implicated in a cow slaughter case.
