The show had to face a lot of controversies due to its content and the situation came to such an extent that the show had to be closed overnight. This show was Tejashwi Prakash’s ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’. Very few people would know about this show because the show went off air after only a few episodes. The audience had objected to the story of this show and demanded to close the show. The love story of an adult girl and a child was shown in the show.
Actually, in this show, a strange love story of an 18 year old girl and her 9 year old groom was shown, which no one liked. Tejasvi Prakash was in the lead role in the show and Affan Khan was seen opposite her. The love story of this strange couple begins when Diya i.e. Tejasvi fulfills the wish of a dying man and marries his orphan son i.e. Ratan Maan Singh. In such a situation, no one was liking this strange love story.
The audience had raised their voice against the show
Gradually, some such scenes started being shown between the two in the story of the show, after which the audience had to raise their voice against it. In the show, 9 year old Ratan falls in love with Diya. His secretly taking photographs of an 18 year old girl who is his wife. Not only this, to show the romance between the two, Tejasvi falls into the arms of that child. Apart from this, plots like honeymoon and wedding night also started being shown in the show, after which the eyes of the audience were left wide open. The audience raised their voice against the show and objected that such a story would have a negative impact on children.
Complaint was filed against the content of the serial
An online petition was filed against this, which was signed by thousands of people and then it was sent to Smriti Irani. In the complaint, a demand was made to take strict action regarding such content. After which the matter went ahead and BCCC took action on it and asked to change its timing. Along with the timing of the show, a leap was brought in it and Affan was made bigger. The name of the serial was also changed to ‘Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya’. But still it did not make any difference and suddenly the news came that the show was closing. This show was telecast on 17 July 2017 and was closed after a month i.e. on 28 August.
