Amidst the increasing cases of cyber fraud, the government is continuously making people aware. In this series, now such messages are being played on caller tune, in which people are being told ways to avoid cyber fraud. Now the Department of Telecommunications has also appealed to the people to beware of fake customer care executives and has given ways to identify them. The department has also released a video for this.
Keep these things in mind
In the video released by the department, several methods of identifying fake customer care executives have been explained. In the video released by the department, it has been said that genuine customer care executives never ask for OTP, bank account details or any sensitive information nor do they send any APK files. If someone is sending such information or files in the name of a customer care executive, then there is a need to be cautious.
Similarly, genuine customer care executives will never ask customers to download remote access software. They always help customers in a safe and reliable manner. Such executives always contact the company through its official channel only.
Scammers are cheating by posing as fake customer care officers.
Actually, for some time now, scammers have been defrauding people by posing as fake customer care officers. Many such cases have come to light when people have lost their hard-earned money in such scams. Therefore always contact the official customer care of the company only. Do not blindly trust the numbers given on Google and confirm them from the website of the concerned company. Also, while talking, do not give them your personal information nor click on any link coming from any suspicious or unknown person.
