The appendix had to be removed, the intestine was taken out
According to the New York Post report, this incident happened on December 6, 2022 at the University of Washington Medical Center. George, who lives in Lake Forest Park, had pain in the lower abdomen, which the doctors said was a disease called appendicitis. He should have got rid of it through a small surgery, but the operation turned out to be a painful long story for him. George told that even after taking medicines, when he woke up, he was in immense pain. The reason for this was that the doctors had cut out the large intestine from his stomach instead of the appendix.
The matter reached the court
Two days later, a CT scan revealed that the appendix was still present in the abdomen. The doctors had cut out the large intestine instead, which caused sepsis and infection in his abdomen. Later, a second surgery was done to remove his appendix and manage the infection. George had to stay in the hospital for 53 days and had 4 additional surgeries. Due to this, he lost weight, had immense pain, suffered from stress and amnesia. Finally, George took the matter to court and demanded compensation for this.
