These days, the fragrance of Ghevar being made at all the confectionery shops of Alwar is smelling in the city. Even before the start of the festive season, Ghevar has started being made at the confectionery shops. Different varieties of Ghevar are being made at the shops in Alwar. The young man who prepared ghevar told that ghevar has started being made in Alwar city a few days back. This sweet is specially prepared for Teej and Raksha Bandhan.
Sonu, who made Ghevar, told that due to the festival, the demand for this sweet is high. That’s why they start being made in the market about 20 days in advance. Although there are many sweets, which get spoiled due to the rains in Sawan. But Ghevar is such a sweet, the better it rains, the better it will become. This sweet becomes soft and tasty in the rainy season. Ghevar is the most demanded sweet on Teej in Sawan. This sweet is sent to women’s house on Sinjara on the first Teej after marriage.
Many types of ghevar are being made
Sonu told that plain ghevar, sweet ghevar, faded ghevar, malai ghevar, chocolate ghevar and other types of ghevar are being made in the market. Sonu told that this sweet prepared from sugar syrup with ghee, milk and flour is one of the favorite sweets of the people in the coming festivals of Sawan. At present, the price of sweet ghevar in the city is Rs 240 per kg, while the price of pale ghevar and cream ghevar is Rs 300 per kg.
Trend artisans make this sweet
Sonu told that the special sweets of Sawan are prepared by mature artisans. Artisans know how to mix ghee, milk and flour in what quantity. Sweets prepared by mature artisans usually taste good.
