The ‘dirtiest city’ is full of cockroaches, where you can get sick even if you breathe, know where is this city?

If you think that all the cities of a developed country like America are very nice and clean, then you are not right. There is an American city which is known for its dirtiness. It is said that insects keep crawling in its houses and it is so bad that you can get sick even by breathing in its air. In a survey, it has been described as one of the dirtiest cities in America.

In a 2023 study by Lawnstarter, over 150 of the largest cities in states were compared in four groups to see who would come out on top. The groups took into account factors such as pollution, living conditions, infrastructure and customer satisfaction.

The city with the highest average score was rated as the ‘dirtiest’, while the city with the lowest average score was rated as the cleanest city. Thus, according to the survey, the dirtiest city in America is Houston in Texas, which has been rated as the dirtiest city.

Space City came out on top of the garbage pile of the rankings, pushing its predecessor, Newark, New Jersey, into second place. Houston got the honor for its terrible air quality, infrastructure problems and the staggering number of insects that infest homes.

Lawnstarter’s sister site PestGnome pulled data showing Houston has the worst cockroach problem in the country, with the creepy creatures crawling around the city. Many said living in these conditions had become a way of life for them. In 2023, residents of the Cranbrook Forest Apartments in north Houston said they were fed up with rats, as well as other problems they were dealing with.

Houston has consistently violated federal ozone pollution rules. The report attributed the ranking to the spread of industrial and fossil fuel burning everywhere. The first images from NASA’s space-based pollution monitoring also showed the toxic gas over Houston in 2023. The images showed a strong presence of harmful nitrogen dioxide in the city.
