Bhojpur. It is said that if courage and skill are high then every difficulty becomes easy. We are saying this because these days a daughter named Gauri Tripathi from Bhojpur district of Bihar travels a distance of 10 kilometers by holding the steering wheel of a passenger vehicle. She brings school children to school safely every day and drops them home. Gauri not only takes the children but also other passengers on that route to their destination. With this bold step, Gauri is not only setting an example of women empowerment but is also giving the message of equality in this field dominated by men.
Actually, Gauri Tripathi runs a private school in Kasap village of Koilwar block, along with this she is also a female driver. The reason behind Gauri Tripathi becoming a woman driver was an accident and taking lessons from it, Gauri decided that she would learn to drive on her own and would take the passengers including school children to their homes safely. Since then, Gauri Tripathi has taken over the steering of the Savaari Magic vehicle and travels a distance of 10 kilometers every day to drop and pick up school children. However, school children and their parents are also very happy with Gauri Tripathi’s driving. Because he has full confidence in Gauri Tripathi’s driving. While ferrying school children, Gauri sometimes accommodates private passengers in her vehicle and takes them to their destination. Here, seeing Gauri driving, many people are shocked that a woman driver is driving the car. It is common for women to drive big vehicles in big cities, but for women in the rural environment of a small town, driving a passenger vehicle is no less than a challenge. Despite all these circumstances, Gauri Tripathi is leaving the house and setting an example for other women.
Decision taken after this incident
Gauri Tripathi says that she does not feel any kind of embarrassment while driving. He told that he has been working as RR in Kasap village of Bhojpur district since 2016. She is running a private school named Shiksha Niketan, where she provides education to poor and underprivileged children. Many children from far away places come to study in his school. Earlier, she used to send a vehicle with a driver to the school to transport the children. One day, while driving under the influence of alcohol, the driver collided with a pole carrying children. Luckily the children were not injured, but the car was damaged. After that incident, Gauri herself resolved to learn driving so that she could safely bring the children from their home to school and drop them back. In the initial days, when she drove to drop her children, people used to stare at her, but gradually everything became normal. Now they drop the children safely to their homes without any hesitation. While motivating the women, Gauri said that no work is small or big. If there is dedication and confidence, any work can be done easily.
