Vijay Narayan Shahu, who has been making Gajak in Jaipur for the last 35 years, says that making Gajak started about 40-45 years ago from Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. Especially when people of Sahu community started it, its name became famous as Shahu Gajak and gradually the popularity of its taste reached Jaipur and then Shahu Gajak became famous in entire Rajasthan.

People are crazy about 22 types of Gajak
22 types of special Gajak are made at Sahu Gajak. Vijay Narayan Sahu, who is in great demand among the people, says that Gajak is mainly made from jaggery, sesame, peanuts and pure ghee. There are more than 1500 shops in Jaipur under the name of Sahu Gajak. Where different tastes of Gajak can be seen, let us tell you that in the winter season, there is a turnover of crores of rupees from the business of Gajak in entire Rajasthan.

There are 22 types of special Gajak at Sahu Gajak Bhandar. Different Gajak are prepared from different items in which dry fruits are mainly used. In which cashews, almonds, pistachios and dry fruits like peanuts, cardamom are used. There are many Gajaks at Sahu Gajak Bhandar like cashew-almond chikki, peanut chikki, sesame patti, jaggery patti. Whose price ranges from Rs 200 per kg to Rs 800 per kg.
