An entire house collapsed in a strange way on the coast of North Carolina, USA and started floating halfway in the sea. This empty house was the seventh seaside residence on the coast to collapse in the tide in the last four years. A video of this entire incident was made, which went viral on social media. But people raised many questions on this, it was clear from their questions that they felt that the accident could have been avoided.
In the viral clip posted on Instagram, onlookers can be heard screaming as the sea takes its toll. Within minutes, the entire structure was almost destroyed as the fierce waves ripped the house off its foundation and half of the first storey of the house sank into the sea, leaving it floating on the ground.
According to reports, no one was in the house at the time of the collapse and all onlookers were safe after the incident. Under the viral video, people rushed in to give their opinions on the power of the ocean, with some saying that the person behind the camera has a “front row seat to climate change.” Many others questioned firstly why the abandoned property was not removed before the ocean removal work began? And secondly why would anyone build a house so close to the coast?
“Be honest, is there a reason this house hasn’t been actively moved or demolished?” one person asked. “Who is the genius who built that house?” someone else asked.
