According to TOI, Sudesh Lahiri told – ‘I had a misunderstanding because of my weak English. At that time there was a need for a manager. So I was kept. Now I was told that I will get 15 thousand. He said fifteen thousand. So I got confused between Teen (fifteen) and Tee (fifty). Later, when the turn of payment came, he gave me 15 thousand, I said give 50 thousand. So he told me that he had already told you 15 thousand. So I realized that I joked in the name of payment, at that time I did not tell them that I do not know English.


When Sudesh Lahiri used to work in Orchestra for 1000 rupees

Sudesh further told- I used to get thousand rupees for singing in the orchestra. So I used to do 25 to 30 shows. I was very happy. I was married and I also had a child. Once I was singing a song when a drunk man came to me and slapped me in front of everyone. I was in shock. I left the stage and immediately came to the green room. I was crying at that time. In such a situation, I started questioning myself that what is my own importance in my life? And the band wanted me to take revenge on that man. But I wanted to leave that life. After that I went home and told everyone that from now on I will not sing again in the orchestra. I said at that time that I want to become something, I want to be like a celebrity. After that I arranged some money and took out my cassettes, it cost me 15 to 20 thousand rupees. But it proved to be a super hit.
