The Kerala Story Row: Controversy continues regarding Adah Sharma’s film ‘The Kerala Story’. After release, the film was banned in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. The matter was heard in the Supreme Court today. The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the West Bengal government on a petition filed by the producers of the film ‘The Kerala Story’. In the petition, the decision of the West Bengal government to ban the film has been challenged. The Supreme Court issued a notice to the West Bengal government and sought an answer from the Tamil Nadu government as well. The next hearing of this case will be on May 17.
The Supreme Court reprimanded the West Bengal government
While hearing the matter, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that when the film is being screened all over the country, why not in West Bengal? Let people decide whether the film is good or bad. Makers’ lawyer Harish Salve told the court, “The Kerala Story was released on May 5 after getting the certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, but West Bengal banned it.” The film is not being allowed to be screened in Tamil Nadu as well.

The Kerala Story movie tells the story of 3 girls, who are converted to religion through brain wash and then those girls are forced to join the terrorist organization ISIS. Producer of the film Vipul Amritlal Shah says that he has done research for many years before making the film. He told that only the truth has been shown completely in the film.
‘The Kerala Story’ reaches close to 100 crores
Significantly, the pace of earning of ‘The Kerala Story’ is not taking the name of stopping at the box office. This movie has collected Rs 12.50 crore on Thursday. It is continuously earning in double digit. In the last seven days, ‘The Kerala Story’ has collected Rs 81.36 crore. It will soon join the 100 crore club.
