The history of this road has been linked since 1916 when the Russian Army was occupied by a city named Trabzon. At that time, the army constructed this road with tools used by hand. At that time, asphalt was laid on some parts on both sides of the road, but most parts are still made of loose gravel. Initially, the road will not find you dangerous, but as you go ahead and instead of asphalt you will get gravel, then you will be afraid. There are 38 very sharp turns on this road, which is called hairpin turn. But the most dangerous turn is the name of the derebasi turn.
This road is very dangerous
There are 17 turns present on this road which are on a 5 km long route and are present at an altitude of up to 5600-6600 feet above sea level. No guard rail is built next to the road so that the trains can be prevented from falling down. At the place where the road is the thinner, only 1 vehicle can come out at a time. When the weather is bad, this road becomes even more dangerous. Due to snowfall, rain, this road remains closed from October to June.
