Chhatarpur: There is a unique village in Chhatarpur district. Here 9 goddesses have been seated here for several hundred years. Earlier, there was a place of 7 goddesses in the village, but now after 2 more Goddess places, it is called ‘village of 9 ladies’.
Ramkaran Shukla, the priest of the village, says that there is a place of 7 goddesses above the mountain, while the places of 2 goddesses are also present in the village. A total of 9 goddesses including Marhi Devi, Kalka Devi, Maheshwari Devi, Yogini Devi, seven Jogini and Kali Devi are worshiped here.
Mother Goddess had rained it
About 45 years ago, there was a severe drought in this village and surrounding areas. The villagers worshiped the goddess and prayed for water from the mother. It is believed that the mother appeared on her horse riding on her horse and by her grace, it rained not only in the village, but in the entire region. After this, there was such a good crop in the village that the elders also used to say that so much yield has never been seen before.
Arrangement of water on the mountain
A crowd of devotees throngs the Devi places on the mountain, but there was a problem of water in the first summer. Awadh Garg, the sarpanch of the village, told that now a water tank has been built there, which is filled with tubewells below. Due to this, devotees do not have any problem of water anymore.
Every year devotees feel influx
The sarpanch says that more schemes will be brought in the coming time, so that devotees can get more facilities. The glory of the goddesses of this village is spread far and wide and every year there is an influx of devotees here.
