Gumla: If you name a dessert found in Gumla, Jharkhand on Google, you can hardly know anything about it. But, its taste is famous till Mumbai. In Gumla, this is the pride of the sweet festivals. Especially on Holi, this dessert is celebrated. The name of this special dessert is Gudpia. Like sand in appearance, but completely different in taste.

People of every places come here to eat Chhattisgarh, Jashpur, Pathalgaon, Orissa, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Mathura, Bengal and Local. We are being sold here since 1945.

Jaggery juice is first prepared. Then maida is kneaded with water. Then filtered in refined oil and put it in the cook prepared with jaggery and leaves for some time. In this way doll is ready. First of all, we started making darpia. Nowadays a lot of hotels make it, in which they add fennel, sugar etc.

Further told, this dessert has been being made since the time of ancestor. At that time pure native ghee was prepared. The lion was sold according to the lion. I myself have sold one and a half rupees lion. After that half the pav, 1 pav was sold. Now Rs 15 is added and sold at the rate of Rs 200 per kg.
