According to the report of Daily Star, a farmer named Maurice Else, resident of South Africa, had found a 5-month-old hippo. His name was Humphrey, who was saved from the flood. When he grew up, Maurice kept him in his 400-acre farm and also built a big pond for him. Maurice taught orphan Humphrey to swim with humans and used his hands to feed him and brush his teeth. He treated him like his son and trusted him like his eyes. He also used to ride on a 102 kg hippo and also got photographs taken with it.
Then one day…he became a beast
Hippo is one of the most dangerous animals in the world, but he had a good friendship with Maurice. Humphrey once attacked and killed two people, yet Maurice did not understand the danger. People also tried to convince him but his trust never broke. Finally, in November 2011, the time came when Humphrey became a savage animal and killed his own protector. Maurice’s body was found near the same river from where Humphrey was rescued. Recently, 1.2 million people watched this story on YouTube and expressed their condolences for Maurice.
