Saharanpur: The Peda of an old shop located in Gangoh town is spreading its sweetness not only in India but also abroad. We are talking about Modhu’s shop, which is said to be 350 years old. Shop owner Manoj Kumar Goyal says that the taste of the Pedas made at his shop is different and special, due to which people come here from far and wide. The Peda, Ghevar, Barfi and Gajar ka Halwa of his shop are also quite famous.
The peda at Modhu’s shop was popular since the British era and today it is being run by his seventh generation. Manoj Kumar Goyal says that the sweet is prepared in a special way in collaboration with the confectioner. When customers praise the peda after eating it, their hard work becomes successful. Many big leaders have also tasted the peda at this shop, and even Amar Shaheed Lala Jagat Narayan has also enjoyed the peda of this shop.
A unique way to make peda
Manoj Kumar Goyal tells that the method of making peda is also unique. First of all, mawa is roasted and then milk is used in it. To make peda good, rava is produced in it and cardamom is used to enhance the taste. Taking special care of cleanliness, fresh pedas are prepared daily, which are less sweet, so that even sugar patients can enjoy it.

People come from far and wide to eat and buy pedas from this shop. People here take pedas from Modhu’s shop as gifts to countries like England, America, Canada, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Australia. Whoever eats pedas from Modhu’s shop says that they have never eaten such delicious pedas before.
