11 crores were received, but did not reach the hands
According to the report of South China Morning Post, a person named Yao had bought two lottery tickets worth Rs 238 in July 2019. Yao asked the shop owner to get this ticket by transferring money. The shop owner also casually picked up two tickets and sent their photos to Yao. Things changed when the result in the evening revealed a prize of Rs 11 crore 70 lakh on one of these two tickets. When Yao arrived to collect his prize, the shopkeeper said he had sent the wrong photo of the ticket and it belonged to someone else. In such a situation, the man went away with the reward. Not only this, he also signed an agreement, in which he gave Rs 17 lakh to Wang in exchange for this ticket and got all the chats deleted.
The matter reached the court
After 2 months of the agreement, when Yao came to know that the person taking the money was the shopkeeper’s brother and had kept Rs 7 crore from him, he filed a case against shopkeeper Wang. The court ordered the person who took the money to give the reward amount to Yao. He challenged this decision in the Upper Court, but here too the decision was in Yao’s favor. The accounts of the shopkeeper and his brother were frozen but there was no money in them. His house was also ordered to be auctioned, but no buyer was found for that house. Yao did not get any benefit from this decision, rather his savings were lost in fighting the case. Even today he is legally the owner of crores, but has nothing in his hands.
