He also said that we want China to forget political differences and take the vaccine of western countries and India as a booster vaccine.
‘Trying to reach China’
Poonawala has said that we are trying to reach them through personal and other means. We have not received the complete response yet. I think they are deciding which way to go. We hope that they will take a decision regarding this as soon as possible. Covovax has been offered to them (China) from our side because it has worked well against Omicron and all variants.
It has two to three times better response than Covishield. For this reason, Covax is a more important vaccine for our citizens as well. The old vaccines are less effective for the new strains, in which case Covavax is more important.
Approved as a booster
He told that it has been approved by USFTA. Europe has also approved it as a booster. Yesterday DCGI has also approved it as a booster dose. If you have taken the first and second dose of any vaccine, then you can take it.
