Some boys in Maharashtra came out in a procession dressed in the traditional dress of the groom and with a board in their hand, in which they are demanding a bride for themselves from the government (Bachelors in wedding outfits march to seek brides). This procession was taken out by Dulhan Dulha Morcha, which reached the collector’s office in Solapur district.

The bachelors who took part in the procession were all dressed in traditional groom’s attire and were riding on horses. A music band was also playing with him, which simultaneously reached the collector’s office. He also handed over a memorandum to the collector, in which the state government has been requested to arrange brides for him, so that he can get married. The procession was organized by the Jyoti Kranti Parishad, which takes up the problems faced by people in the area who find it difficult to find a bride. Morcha’s founder Ramesh Bharskar says that people also make fun of this morcha, but not getting brides is a problem in itself.

According to a PTI report, finding brides is a big problem for grooms in Maharashtra due to gender inequality. Here there are only 889 girls on 1000 boys, due to which it is very difficult for grooms to find brides. In the country where there are 1020 females per 1000 males.
