The man assaulted in the video is Jovani Stephenson, a 32-year-old laborer from St Andrew’s. This incident happened on Charles Street of Kingston Central Police Division. Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, head of the St Andrew’s Central Police Division, confirmed the news to the Star a short while ago. He was arrested in the Charles Street area of Downtown Kingston following a police action based on leads provided.
Nesbeth said, “He is now coming to us from there, so of course we will start an action process against him.” On Wednesday, a video was shared of Stephenson attacking a woman, Danielle Pryce. They reportedly share a child. In the 18-second clipping, he repeatedly kicked and abused the woman.
He fled from the spot when onlookers arrived. The incident is being told around 1:30 pm. He is in custody at the Half-Way Tree police station and will be produced in court next week.
