Satna: A strange case has come to light from Janaki Kund Hospital in Chitrakoot. Where a 2.5 kg clump of hair was found in the stomach of a 25 year old woman suffering from stomach pain during surgery. The woman’s family was shocked to see this. Actually, this woman from Mahoba was suffering from unbearable pain in her stomach for a few days.
For which the woman’s family was taking treatment from doctors of Mahoba and Banda Medical College. But the woman’s stomach ache problem did not go away. After which the woman’s family consulted doctors at Janaki Kund Hospital in Chitrakoot. Where ultrasound and CT scan were done to find out the proper cause of the stomach ache. Then it was found that there is a clump of hair in the woman’s stomach. This clump was formed due to the woman’s habit of eating hair.
How did a woman get addicted to eating hair
When the doctors questioned the woman about her addiction to eating hair, it was revealed that the woman got addicted to it during her second pregnancy. Not only this, apart from her own hair, the woman used to eat hair wherever she saw it. However, after having the second child, the woman stopped eating hair. But after a few days, the woman started having pain in her stomach. Due to pain in the stomach, the woman also consulted doctors at the medical college in Banda district of UP, but the main reason for the pain could not be found, after which the woman was admitted to Janaki Kund Hospital.

Talking to Local 18, Dr. Nirmala Gehani, senior surgeon of Janaki Kund Hospital, said that such cases in which women eat hair are called Trichobezoar in medical terms, in which either the patient is young or the patient is suffering from a mental illness. Due to which there is an addiction to eating hair. Dr. Nirmala Gehani said about this disease that such cases are usually only one percent. This was the third case in her life, before this she has seen a nine-year-old child, the second case of an 18-year-old girl and the third case of this 25-year-old woman.
How hair became a problem
Dr. Nirmala Gehani said that the woman’s stomach was completely filled due to eating hair or it can be said that a stomach of hair was formed inside the woman’s stomach. Due to which the woman stopped eating and vomited. She also had unbearable pain, however, after the surgery the woman is completely safe.
