But the question arises that why is it so expensive?
According to a 2015 report by BBC, a biscuit was auctioned in October 2015, which was priced at 15 thousand pounds, which is equivalent to 15 lakh rupees today. It is so expensive because it is the only biscuit that was on the Titanic and was found safe. Spillers and Bakers Pilot Cracker Biscuit was found in a survival kit kept in a life boat of Titanic. Because of this, it is also considered the world’s most valuable biscuit (Titanic Biscuit Auction).

Biscuits from Titanic
It was bought by a collector from Greece. This biscuit was preserved as a souvenir by a couple, James and Mabel Fenwick, who were present in the RMS Carpathia. Actually, the RMS Carpathia ship was called to rescue the survivors of the Titanic. Then the couple picked up the biscuit and then kept it in a Kodak film envelope. Along with this biscuit, the couple also kept the negatives of some photos safely.
Expensive biscuits have been sold earlier also
Auctioneer Andrew Eldridge, who auctioned this biscuit, said that it was surprising that a biscuit survived such a terrible accident. As per his knowledge, no other biscuit is available that survived from the Titanic. According to him, a few years ago, a 100-year-old biscuit found during the travels of the famous explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton was also auctioned, which was bought for Rs 3 lakh.
