In the world of TV and movies, some movies or series sometimes become famous for strange reasons. An animated series, The Simpsons, has been linked to many ‘predictable’ but accurate future events in its three-decade run. Recently, something opposite has been seen happening on social media. A viral post shows how an ancient relic is giving hints about this series. That is, the show itself was predicted thousands of years ago.
According to a post shared on the Reddit forum, a 3,000-year-old Egyptian coffin bears a striking resemblance to Marge Simpson, the beloved mother of Bart, Lisa and Maggie in the TV show. The tomb found in the Egyptian cemetery features a picture of a yellow woman wearing a green dress and a high blue crown on her head that resembles Marge’s trademark long hair.
Details in a now-deleted Reddit post that resurfaced this week suggest the coffin dates to the New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty (around 1186-1069 BC), representing the goddess Nut. One historian said the coffin may have belonged to a teenage girl and that her parents may have made it look as big as possible.

Interestingly, the online community was quick to notice the similarities between Nat and the iconic cartoon matriarch, suggesting that the ancient Egyptians had somehow “predicted” Marge Simpson. One Reddit user quipped: “So the Egyptians predicted the Simpsons? Plot twist,”
Several Reddit users suggested that the creators of The Simpsons must have some sort of time-travelling ability, given their habit of predicting future events and referencing the past. Another said: “This is yet another proof that the creators of The Simpsons can definitely travel through time…” The show is famous for its extremely accurate ‘predictions’, including Donald Trump becoming president, flu-like pandemics such as Covid-19, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
