On the night of January 5, thieves targeted a shop selling clothes (readymade garments) and cosmetic products in Shri Bazar, located about 100 meters away from Hathras Sadar Kotwali. The thieves escaped after cutting the shutter of the shop and stole Rs 2 lakh in cash and other valuables. This incident is also raising questions on police patrolling.
Manoj Kumar, resident of Naval Nagar Police Station Hathras Gate, has a readymade clothes and cosmetic shop named Akarshan Fashion Shop in Shri Bazaar of Sadar Bazar Kotwali area. Manoj Kumar told that like every day, he had closed his shop on Friday evening and gone home. In the night, unknown thieves cut the shutter of the shop with a grinder and stole about two lakh rupees and other items kept in the shop. Neighbors informed Manoj Kumar about the theft in the shop on Saturday morning. On receiving information about the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar, police team, dog squad and forensic team reached the spot. Police are also examining the footage of CCTV cameras. In this case, the police have registered a case of theft against unknown accused. The police have started searching for the thieves.
