There are many places in the world which are so strange that the people who go there either do not want to return to those places again, or want to go again and again. Namib desert coast is a desert in the country of Namibia located in the southern part of Africa. The situation is similar here also. In ancient times, Portuguese sailors had described the coastline located near this desert as the ‘Gates of Hell Namibia’. Because of this no one wants to go here. But you will be surprised to know that this place has become a famous tourist destination.

According to the report of Daily Star News website and CNN, Namibia’s Skeleton Coast (Skeleton Coast, Namibia) is a place that gives a very scary experience. This place is known by nicknames like ‘Gate of Hell’, ‘End of the Earth’. People believe that God must have created this area in extreme anger. This is the place where the sea and the desert meet each other. Here sand dunes extend for long distances, wild animals live and along with them, skeletons, ship wrecks etc. are also spread all around.

Whenever there is low tide in the sea and the water recedes, many skeletons are seen lying on the shore. Not many people live near this area. Many elephants are found here which dig pits in the sand and extract water from inside. Apart from this, creatures like giraffe, lion, hyena, and baboon are also found here. According to CNN, people of Himba tribe also live in this area. The people of this tribe do not take bath.
Many ships have been destroyed
Since the population in this area is very less, there is no pollution here. Because of this the sky appears very clear. People come here for dune trekking. They travel to the dunes of this desert on vehicles. According to Daily Star, about 1000 ships have been destroyed here, whose debris is found lying on the shore. The Beach Atlas website has rated this beach as one of the most beautiful golden beaches in the world. By now you must have understood why it is named Skeleton Coast. That’s because a large number of whale skeletons have been found here.
