After the independence of the country, after the implementation of CRPF Act on 28 December 1949, it was named Central Reserve Police Force.

In this, the level of Sub Inspector is 6, under which the Sub Inspector gets a pay scale of Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400. In CRPF, constables get a monthly salary ranging from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100. Whereas Assistant Commandant gets a basic pay of Rs 56100 under Level 10. Apart from this, many types of allowances are available including inflation, house rent, medical, ration, transport etc.
