There is a prison in the middle of the desert that is worse than hell, it is run by terrorist prisoners, its record is very bad

If asked where in the world would be a prison worse than hell, people would probably say a prison in Russia or America. But would you believe that according to a new report by Human Rights Watch, one such prison is in the middle of the desert of Chad in Africa. Yes, a prison that exposed the chaos prevailing inside Chad’s Koro Toro “penal colony” has been called something like this.

This notorious prison in the Chadian desert is used to house members of the Boko Haram terrorist group who have been spreading chaos in the region. It also houses Chadian rebels, making it a very volatile place.

The Human Rights Watch report has shed light on what really goes on inside the prison. It blames the military, which runs the prison, for the deaths of protesters held there in 2022. The report says that six protesters taken to the prison died, the bodies were dumped in trucks and disposed of. It also claims that the crumbling prison, which has two sections, is run by the military. They have given over the prison to prisoners linked to Boko Haram.

At the site, which authorities have described as a “penal colony,” inmates are chained by their ankles to metal chains for “several weeks” as punishment, placed in solitary confinement and kept in cells without beds.

And worst of all, Human Rights Watch found that children as young as 13 were sometimes kept in the same room with adults for up to two weeks. “During the first two weeks, detainees slept on bare floors until the International Committee of the Red Cross provided mattresses,” they claim.

Human Rights Watch has documented at least six cases of detainees who received no medical care, including injuries from beatings and injuries sustained while being transported to the detention center, and then died while in Koro Toro.
