How to make dal, rice and potato chokha in the same cooker.

  • First of all, wash pulses and rice in separate vessels. Also wash 2 potatoes and remove their peel.
  • Now add 2 spoons of oil in a cooker. Add cumin and a pinch of asafoetida in oil. Now add 1 green chilli and chopped garlic in this cooker. After the garlic turns golden, add chopped tomatoes. Now add salt and cook the tomatoes until they become soft. Add washed lentils to it and stir. Add red chilli and turmeric to the dal. So, the dal is yours.
  • Take a pot and put rice in it. Pour rice-sized amount of water in this pot and keep it in the middle of the cooker.
  • Put whole peeled potatoes in this cooker. If your potato is very big then cut it into 2 parts and add it.
  • Now just close the lid of this cooker and take 2 whistles on medium flame. Your pulses, rice and potatoes will be cooked in the flame of the cooker.
  • By the time the cooker whistles, prepare the potato chokha.
  • For Chokha, chop 1 green chilli, 1 tomato and green coriander. Mash the potatoes and add chopped ingredients, salt and pepper to it. Add some raw mustard oil in this chokha. That’s it, your complete three-dish dinner made in a single cooker is ready.
