The reason for this is the canal closure for 60 consecutive days. In fact, drinking water supply from Indira Gandhi Canal, which supplies drinking water to more than a dozen districts of the state including Nagaur, will not be available for two months. However, it is being said that there will not be any problem regarding water supply in Nagaur district.

Chief Officer of Water Supply Department, Ramchandra Raad told that canalization will be done in Nagaur district in two ways. Partial canal closure for the first 30 days and complete canal closure for the last 30 days. first round March 25 to April 25. Water will be available every day during these thirty days, only Sunday will be a water holiday. There will be complete canal closure from 25 April to 25 May. At this time, if any person needs it, then water will be supplied through tankers.

There are some arrangements for water

Raad told that water arrangements have been made for the residents of the district for two months. There may be a slight delay in water coming due to some emergency like canal break or delay in construction work due to some reason, but There is storage of 10110 million liters of water in Nokhadaya Dam to make water available in the district. At the same time, 2800 tube wells and 3900 headpumps have been selected across the district. During canalization, 10 liters of water will be made available for drinking per person.

On behalf of the officials of the water supply department, an appeal has been made to the people to use drinking water only for drinking purposes. Don’t waste water. Officials told that if any person steals or wastes water during the canal, action will be taken against him.
