These creatures perform surgery like humans, cut off legs to save lives

If any part of the body rots or gets infected, which puts the whole body at risk, then the doctor removes that part by cutting it out through surgery. This is a difficult process, it took centuries for humans to learn and understand it.

But recently, during a research, it was found that there is a small creature in this world that has always been adopting this method of treatment. Let us tell you about it in detail.

Which is that creature?

Researchers from the University of Würzburg, Germany, during a recent research found that some ants found on earth also know how to do surgery like humans. Actually, during the research, the researchers saw that the brown and red colored ‘Florida Carpenter’ ants were cutting off the legs of their injured companions to save their lives.

When the researchers did research on their nests, they saw that some ants present there were treating the rest of the ants. The treating ants were first cleaning the wound with their mouth and after that were cutting off the rotten body parts very carefully.

Important role of doctor ants in the army

When the researchers did research on these ants, they found that these ants live in a colony. Along with making their home in rotten wood, a group of these ants also protects it. If the enemy attacks their nest, the soldier ants come forward to fight.

If any ant of the Florida Carpenter species gets injured in war, then the doctor ants of the same species immediately take charge for treatment. When the researchers of Würzburg University saw this kind of system, they were surprised. They believed that apart from humans, the Florida Carpenter ants were doing this in the most precise manner.

How do the ants know that now the body part has to be cut?

To do more in-depth research on the ants, their nest was kept in the lab. Actually, the researchers wanted to find out how the ants know that to treat their companion, they will have to cut off one of his body parts. Scientists observed that ants used to look at two things to do this.

If an ant has an injury on the lower part of its leg and the flow of a special kind of blue-green coloured fluid coming out of the ant’s body is fast, then it is believed that now nothing will happen by cutting the leg, death is certain. But if the injury is on the upper part of the leg and the flow of fluid is less, then the ants cut the leg of their fellow to treat it.
