There is a shop in Chaura Rasta of Jaipur which is famous for Mini Malpua. Malpuas are being made here for 150 years. Big people are admirers of this shop’s mini Malpua. Malpuas are made throughout the year at this shop, that too in desi ghee. The relish of them doubles when eaten with chilli tops.

Somani Mishthan Bhandar, situated in the narrow lanes of Chaura Rasta, has been making mini malpuas for the last 150 years. This mini malpua is famous all over the country. Because the taste of Mini Malpua here will not be seen anywhere. When mini malpuas started being made in pure desi ghee here, even the Britishers became crazy about their mini malpuas. At that time, big British officers used to come to eat Malpua of this shop.

Mini malpuas are made from a sweet batter of maida and wheat flour, which is fried in pure desi ghee in a large sized pan for a few minutes. And after it is cooked properly, it is then immersed in sweet sugar syrup and after a few minutes it is taken out of the syrup and kept in a big utensil. After this the mini malpua is ready.

No one can tell the estimated price of 150 years ago, nor is there any proof. But it has come to know from some old shops here and from the local people that once upon a time mini malpua used to cost Rs. The crowd rises.
