The Shobha Yatra of Maa Sheetla, who fills the empty pockets of devotees and fulfills everyone’s wishes, is taken out every year in Ambala Cantonment since 1964. Devotees are also very enthusiastic about this Yatra. This Shobha Yatra is taken out by the South Indian Club.
This is what one does when their wish is fulfilled
In this Shobha Yatra, the devotees of Maa Sheetla go on a pilgrimage with Kunda and Trishul on their bodies with devotion to thank the mother after their wishes are fulfilled. Giving more information, Shakti, a member of the South Indian Club, said that the Shobha Yatra of Maa Sheetla is started by them every year from Ambedkar Park. After which this journey concludes in Bandhu Nagar. This Yatra is being taken out by the South Indian Club since 1964.
After the procession is over, they do a fire test
In which first of all the devotees of Maa Sheetla keep a fast for 21 or 11 days. In which the devotees remain barefoot. After the Shobha Yatra is over, the devotees do Agni Pariksha. In this Agni Pariksha, the devotees pass over the embers. He also told that devotees from far-off states come to participate in this Yatra.
When we talked to the devotees involved in the yatra about this, they told that every year during the month of Saavan, we worship Sheetla Mata. In which fasts have to be kept for Mata Sheetla. In which devotees set out on the yatra after their wishes are fulfilled. This yatra starts from Bandhu Nagar. After the yatra ends, the devotees will give Agni Pariksha.
