Gumla. Dhuska is famous like a local star in Jharkhand. People here like to eat dhuska for breakfast. There is a great craze for dhuska in Gumla. This is the reason that dhuska shops are set up at almost every square and intersection in the district. But the dhuska available at the stall of Saurabh Chaat Bhandar located near the bus stand of Palkot block of Gumla is something else. People like all the things available here. But there is so much demand for dhuska that it gets finished as soon as it is filtered out. About 500 pieces of dhuska are sold daily.

Shop opened after lockdown
Ajay Kansari, the operator of the stall, told Local 18 that our stall has been running in Palkot since 1991. I started working with my father and the entire family. Since the lockdown, I have been running my own stall in the name of Saurabh Chaat Bhandar. We have Dhuska, Samosa, Aloo Chaap, Pyaaji, Barra, Pakora, Tea etc. People like all the things available here. But there is so much demand for Dhuska and Samosa that it gets over as soon as we filter it. We serve potato and pea chole and special chutney of gram and almond with it. Mixture, finely chopped onion and chaat masala are also served on top of it. Which adds to the taste. That is why people like the things available here.

You will get a plate for 20 rupees
Talking about the price, Dhuska, Samosa, all the things are available here at the rate of 20 rupees per plate. 3 pieces are served in 1 plate. The operator further told that to make Dhuska, first of all Arwa rice and Urad dal are put in water and left for 6 to 8 hours. Then it is ground in a mixer. In this way, Gudi is prepared. Then it is served hot to people after frying it in refined oil in the cart. Our stall is decorated daily from 4:30 in the morning till 6 in the evening.
