Baghpat: There is a different craze for the sweets served in Kulhad here. This sweet is prepared from cow’s milk and has such a unique mixture of dry fruits that people come from far and wide to taste it. The taste of this sweet increases even more when served in a Kulhad.
This sweet named ‘Chhena Pies’ was started about five months ago at Bhagat Ji Sweets located in Sisana village of Baghpat. Since then the popularity of this sweet is increasing rapidly. In the process of making it, first the cow’s milk is boiled, then it is split and chhena is prepared. After this, saffron and various dry fruits like cashews, almonds, walnuts are added to chhena. Then this mixture is frozen in a kulhar.
Discussion of taste far and wide
This sweet has become so famous that the shop is crowded with customers from morning to evening. A kulhar of chhena pie costs 60 rupees, and people come from places like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Delhi to taste it.
No adulteration
The shop’s operator Adesh Kumar says that he prepared this sweet in an attempt to do something new, and no adulteration is done in it. Special care is taken of its quality and quantity, due to which people come from far and wide to taste it. In the last five months, the demand for this sweet has been increasing continuously.
