Nityanand Das, the 12th abbot of Udasinath Math, said, “It was written on Bhojpatra by Brahmalin Shivshankar Das ji, the fifth abbot of Ramcharitmanas Math. This is the time when paper was not invented and people used to write on birch bark. Ramcharitmanas was written with the help of leaves and inkpots. Devotees come from all over the country and abroad to see it.”

Even after 300 years, all the pages of this Ramcharitmanas are safe. The couplets, quatrains and verses written in it can be read clearly in capital letters. Writing in capital letters was part of the tradition of that time. The writing of Ramcharitmanas is not only beautiful, but its structure is also surprising.
