Farrukhabad: In the olden days, many people considered sweets as superfood. But with changing times, many people have started avoiding it. Purushottam Kumar, a resident of Amanabad village in Farrukhabad, says that he has been preparing and selling this sweet for the last 50 years. When he started, it was sold at a rate of just 50 rupees per kg. But now with time inflation has increased and it is being sold at the rate of 40 rupees for 250 grams i.e. 160 rupees per kg. When this sweet is prepared, it starts selling off immediately. The taste of his sweets is such that even people from nearby areas come here and taste this sweet with great gusto.

Full of strength
Not only is it tasty, it is also rich in fruit fibre. Shopkeepers claim that it is rich in iron, sulphur, Vitamin A, E, protein as well as calcium.

This recipe is special
Sweet sellers tell that first of all they prepare various dry fruits like gram, dates, tal makhana, raisins, chironji, almonds, cashews properly and then roast them in desi ghee. After this, they prepare syrup from sugar and after adding already prepared semolina in it, they keep on mixing the mixture of dry fruits in it. When it is cooked in a perfect proportion, then it is taken out and given the shape of barfi and sold.
