There is a unique and only Shiva temple in our country which is famous not only in India but all over the world. This Shiva temple is located in Surat, Gujarat. The Shivling of Pardeshwar Mahadev in Pal Atal Ashram is very popular among the Shiva devotees of Surat. The specialty of this temple is that this Shivling is completely made of mercury. The weight of the Shivling made in this temple is 2,351 kg which is completely made of mercury. Shiva devotees say that every wish made here is fulfilled.
The Shivling of Pardeshwar Mahadev is the center of attraction among Shiva devotees
This Shivling has always been a center of attraction among Shiva devotees. Especially in the month of Saavan, people come from far and wide to see this Shivling. Due to this Shivling made of mercury, the temple has been named Pardeshwar Mahadev Temple. It is said in the scriptures that worshipping the Shivling made of mercury removes diseases and troubles.
The temple is constructed as per Vastu Shastra
This temple has been constructed according to Vastu Shastra. At the bottom of the Shivling of Pardeshwar temple, a bell is attached to a 3 inch brass pipe with a copper wire from below the Shivling. This bell has been installed by digging a pit 45 feet below, from where water can be touched. Actually, the bottom is the place where the navel is. In this way, the entire Shivling has been prepared from 2351 kg of mercury.
What is the history of Pardeshwar Mahadev Temple
According to the information, this temple was established in the year 1977. However, at that time the weight of the Shivling was only 51 kg. Mota Pardeshwar Shivling was established in the year 2004. 12 Parad Jyotirlingas are very important in this Shivling. Talking about the Shivling, Pandit Arvindkumar Shastri says that he has been serving this temple since he was 10 years old.
The world’s heaviest Shivling
This is the only Shivling in the world whose weight is 2351 kg. This is the reason why it is famous not only in the country but also abroad. In the 1751 kg mercury Shivling, there is a brass part below the 600 kg mercury. The mercury Shivling has been installed here with the inspiration of Saurashtra’s Samarth Mahant Guru Mahadevgiri Bapu and the efforts of Batukgiri Swami.
