The laddu made here goes not only to India but also to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Britain. Lakhs of people from India and abroad come to the fair held every year at Shekhpur Dargah in Kamalganj development block of the district. At such a time, thousands of artisans across the district are busy preparing to make special laddus in preparation for the fair. At such a time, laddus of different quality are being made in the sweet shops in Kamalganj town near Shekhpur village.

The way this laddu is prepared in a different way. This also increases its taste and people are liking it a lot. Now people from all the cities of the country order it. There are fans of this laddu even in foreign countries. Whoever tastes the taste of laddus once seems to be eager to eat them every time. Laddu business worth crores of rupees is done in this fair which lasts for three days.

Many types of quality are prepared
Kamal Gupta, director of Manoj Mishthan Bhandar Kamalganj, said that a lot of cost has to be incurred to prepare this laddu. In which many types of its qualities are prepared. For which he makes these laddus with good quality gram flour and dry fruits as well as desi ghee. Generally, these laddus are sold here for Rs 150 to Rs 300 depending on the quality.

How are these laddus made?
According to the shopkeeper, a big kadai is used to prepare this laddu. In which ghee is heated and the mixture of gram flour and rice prepared in advance is placed on a fine sized sieve and pressed. Due to which the shape of the boondi becomes longer. Which is called sev boondi. After this, these boondi are put in the sugar mixed syrup prepared earlier. When this boondi is filled with syrup, it is cooled and prepared in the shape of round laddu. Then it is decorated with dry fruits like nuts, cashew nuts and almonds.
