ABP Live spoke to Dr. Shagufta Parveen, Head of Arts Department at Mangalayatan University Aligarh, regarding career and best options in History. Dr. Shagufta says that history is a very interesting subject, it is also a great career option for those who are eager to know history. Nowadays, many courses are also being run regarding history. After doing which students can get a good salary job.

PhD in History Dr. Parveen says that those people are more interested in history. Those who like to know about the events, persons and civilizations of the past. Apart from this, these people like to get the information available in the study of various subjects of art, literature, sports and history.

Career Options

  1. Historian: Historians research and analyze past events in order to better understand the present and inform future generations. Historians can work in academic fields, such as universities, government agencies, museums, etc. To become a historian, at least a master’s degree in history or a related field is required.
     
  2. Museum curator: Museum curators work to acquire, preserve, and interpret historical artifacts and exhibits for the public. To become a museum curator, a master’s degree in history, art, or a related field is required.
  3. Archivist: Archivists are involved in the preservation and management of historical records and documents, including manuscripts, photographs and audio/visual materials. Archivists can work in libraries, archives, or government agencies.  To become an archivist  You must have a master’s degree in history or library science.
  4. Historical writers: Historical writers and journalists Writes articles, books and other material for publication. All of them use their knowledge of history to write the information. Apart from this, you can also work as a freelancer.
