The most important thing is that this book was donated to the Isle of Wight RSPCA shop many years ago. This book was sold by Hanson auction house in Staffordshire, United Kingdom.

How much was this book sold for?

When the auction of this Harry Potter book started When it happened, its initial bid started at 4200 pounds i.e. around Rs 4 lakh. However, within some time the bidders started bidding higher for it. The last bid made for this book was 7500 pounds. If we convert this into Indian Rupees then it will be around Rs 7.88 lakh. However, the estimate for the sale of this book before the auction was between 7 thousand to 10 thousand pounds.

The most special thing about this book was that even after so many years, this book was received very well. It was preserved well. If we talk about the auction of other books of Harry Potter, they were also auctioned for lakhs of rupees. For example, in July last year, a book from the first 500 editions of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ was auctioned, which was bought for 10,500 pounds i.e. approximately Rs 11 lakh. Whereas, in March 2022, another old book of Harry Potter was auctioned and its bid was around Rs 72 lakh.
