Actually, two friends Abhay Kumar Srivastava, resident of Gopalganj district of Bihar and Arun Panja, resident of Bengal, opened a shop in the name of Bengal Sweets in Gopalganj city itself. Today this shop has become the first choice of the people and this name is on everyone’s lips. Both Bihari and Bengali sweets are made in this shop.

Rasgulla is made using date jaggery in the traditional way.
The specialty of Rasgulla made from date jaggery is that it is very tasty. The texture of Rasgulla is soft and tender and the taste of jaggery blends very well with the Rasgulla. This Rasgulla is in demand far and wide. People eat with great enthusiasm. The shop owners have attributed this success to their delicious Rasgullas.

Abhay Kumar alias Bhola told that he always uses fresh and good quality ingredients to make Rasgulla and uses the traditional method of making Rasgulla. Date jaggery rasgulla is available only in winter, because date jaggery is made only in winter. In winter, when jaggery is made from dates, the taste of Rasgulla increases even more. Bengal Sweets is one of the most popular sweet shops in the district today.

Abhay Kumar told that Bengal Sweets needs no introduction today because of the Rasgulla prepared from date jaggery. He told that to make Rasgulla, a special type of date jaggery has to be imported from Bengal. This jaggery has a different taste and aroma. The special thing is that people suffering from diabetes can also eat it.

The price of Rasgulla is Rs 20 per piece while it is sold for Rs 400 per kg. 300 to 400 units are sold daily. The popularity of this Rasgulla can be gauged from the fact that every year in winter, Rasgulla is sold worth lakhs of rupees. Abhay told that in future also he will continue making rasgullas from date jaggery.
