There is a 400 year old prison in the UK which is considered to be the most dreadful place there. Recently this jail came into limelight when it was stopped from being closed at the last moment. This popular tourist place named Shepton Mallet Prison was being closed. Many tourists are very happy with this stop. It was decided to close it on January 2. But its owner City and Country confirmed this and said that now this jail will not be closed till 2024.
Due to this, not only the employees working here are happy but the tourists are also very happy and relieved. The agency that maintains the jail has also expressed relief and happiness that this heritage site remains open. Whereas on social media people have expressed happiness over it being open.
This historical jail was built about 400 years ago around 1600. The first prisoner came to this jail in 1625 and the last prisoner stayed till 2013. It was opened to the public in 2017. Even the option of staying at night in this jail started being given to people in the year 2020.

By staying here, people try to understand the environment where the prisoners used to live. Tourists who have stayed here say that this was the most dreadful prison in the UK. to brave tourists
To spend one night in an old cell, one has to spend only 49 pounds i.e. about 5200 rupees.
This experience is the biggest attraction of this jail and by staying here people share the experiences of the prisoners. The beds in the cells here are very uncomfortable and even the tourists are given the same soft porridge for breakfast that was earlier given to the prisoners. The interesting thing is that in 2020 it was converted into a hotel in which the cell here was kept as a bedroom.
