Madhubani : Peda holds an important place among the cultural heritage and traditional sweets of Mithila. This special sweet is not only known for its deliciousness but is also an important part of the religious and cultural activities here. On every happy occasion in Mithila, after offering bhog to the God, Peda is distributed. This sweet is a favorite of the local people and knowing its recipe can be interesting for many people.

Speaking to Local18, Jeevchha Sah shared the traditional method of making peda. According to him, about 200 grams of peda can be prepared from one liter of milk. He informed about all the important steps of the peda-making process from the beginning to the end.

Method for making Peda:
Boiling the Milk: Firstly, put milk in a large vessel and boil it on medium flame. Keep stirring the milk continuously so that it does not burn.

Thickening the milk: When the milk boils down to half, keep cooking it on low flame to thicken it. During this time the color of the milk will change and it will thicken.

Making Khoya: When the milk becomes very thick and ghee starts coming out of it, leave it to cool. This will prepare khoya.

preparing peda from khoya: Add sugar and dry fruits to the cooled khoya as per taste. Mix this mixture well and then shape it into small balls. Decorate the trees with dry fruits and let it cool down well.

Through this method of making Peda, you can not only enjoy this sweet but also experience the cultural richness of Mithila. Jeevchha Sah has made this traditional sweet even more popular by sharing his love and knowledge about it.
