Many types of dishes are cooked at home. Anarsa has a special significance in the festival of Hartalika Teej. Due to which Bhagat Singh Chowk of Hazaribagh is filled with the fragrance of Anarsa. More than a dozen shops here are making Anarsa for Hartalika Teej.

Anarsa has been made for 22 years
Vinod Prasad, the operator of Anarsa shop, said that he has been making Anarsa for the last 22 years. The highest demand for Anarsa is for Hartalika Teej. Right now, 60 to 70 kg of Anarsa is being made in his shop daily, which will increase to 200 kg daily in future. Traders from Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Chatra districts come and take this Anarsa. Two types of Anarsa are being prepared here this year. Anarsa with khoya is priced at Rs 240 per kg, while Anarsa without khoya is priced at Rs 180 per kg.

There is a special method to make Anarsa
Gopal Prasad Gupta, the owner of a shop in Khaja Gali, first washes the basmati rice thoroughly and grinds it coarsely in a mixer. The ground rice is mixed with flour and sugar and fried to make a loaf. Similarly, khoya is also fried in sugar syrup. After that, the prepared loaf is filled with khoya, wrapped in sesame seeds and left in hot oil. It is then cooked in 5 minutes. Then it is ready for the customer.

Anarsa 240 rupees per kg
Sanjeev, the head priest of Shiv Mandir Damodih, says that according to the scriptures, Anarsa has religious significance. This sweet is very dear to the gods. It is called Apoop in Sanskrit. It is prepared by mixing sugar and white sesame seeds in rice flour. It is used as a donation in the ritual of worship. According to the scriptures, donating Apoop or Anarsa brings great fortune.
