A special thing about Jaipur city is that famous foods from different states of India are easily available here. You must have eaten a lot of rotis, but there is one such unique roti which originated from Meerut 40-45 years ago and this unique roti is now liked very much by the people of Jaipur. This roti is mostly made during festivals. But even on normal days, people like it a lot. Similarly, this unique roti is made the most in Ramganj market of Jaipur and is also in demand. There is a small shop named Host in Ramganj market which has come from Meerut to Jaipur for the business of this roti.
Faizan Salmani, who came to Jaipur from Meerut, tells that the unique roti of Sheermal is considered to have originated from Meerut, Delhi. Our father started it 40 years ago and we too have been making this unique roti for many years. Faizan Salmani tells that this roti is specially prepared from flour, ghee, milk, cardamom and dry fruits clippings. First of all the dough is prepared from refined flour and then like normal roti it is prepared and dry fruits clippings are applied on it. Then it is roasted in a big tandoor and after applying ghee the roti is completely ready.
This roti is sold from Rs 50 to Rs 120
Faizan Salmani tells that this roti is as beautiful as it looks. It is equally delicious to eat. In this unique roti, chopped dry fruits are used as per the price. This roti is sold for Rs 50 to Rs 120. In which ghee is also used. Generally it is a roti which can be eaten without any vegetables or other items. Its taste is amazing. Faizan Salmani says that although its demand is highest during the festive season, but now people have gradually started liking its taste, hence its demand has also started increasing.
