Presently in the local market, fresh ker is available at Rs 200 to Rs 350 per kg and sangri at Rs 150 to Rs 250. Later, the price of this same ker as a dry vegetable reaches Rs 1200 per kg.

In Marwar, Ker Sangri is also included in Prasad. On Shitalashtami, dry Ker vegetable is kept in the Prasad of Mother Goddess. Just after that its season starts. This vegetable does not spoil for about a week. Due to the tradition of eating cold food for the first seven days, Ker Sangri vegetable and Launji with jaggery and amchoor were used more. Now modern use of Ker is also being started. Modern chefs have started making different varieties of this vegetable by doing many experiments. Now Kerr has made his special place in the menu of Five Star also.

Marwar’s ker is costlier than almonds
In dry fruits, American almonds are being sold for Rs 800 per kg. Whereas in comparison to the price of almond, fine kernel is being sold at Rs 1400 per kg and large kernel is being sold at Rs 1000 per kg. The current price of Sangri is Rs 1200 to 1400 per kg.

It yielded bumper crops in more than two dozen nearby villages including Bhojasar, Bhinyasar, Ghantiyali, Chimana, Chakhu, Luna, Udat, Kelansar, Ranisar, Barjasar, Suvap, ​​Ishru, Kerala, Barsinga Ka Bas, Padiya Mutai, Chadi and Laxman Nagar.
