Motihari: In the Banjariya police station area of the district late on Saturday night, thugs from a businessman posing as custom officers carried out the Motihari Robbery incident of Rs 30 lakh. The victim businessman Rahul Gupta was going from Patna to Raxaul. During this, two thugs called Rahul Gupta after stopping the bus near the Hanuman temple located at Banjaria Pandal Chowk late on Sunday night and took him away as a custom officer. After this, the incident of loot was carried out by taking it to a deserted place. The thugs also assaulted the businessman. At the same time, after getting the information of the incident, the police has started investigating the matter.
The thugs beat up the businessman
It is being told that businessman Rahul Gupta was going from Patna to Raxaul by sleeper bus. At around 2:30 in Motihari, the bus conductor told him that two people are waiting for you at the bus gate. After this, both the persons took Rahul Gupta off the bus and took a bag containing Rs 30 lakh kept in the bus. Both the persons were calling themselves as custom officers. In this order the bus left from there. After the bus was done, both the persons took the businessman in their possession and took them towards the market committee in a deserted place. There both of them beat up the businessman and ran away with a bag full of money.
The businessman is a resident of Patna
Businessman Rahul Gupta is said to be a resident of Tapoban Colony located on Rampur Road of Rajendra Nagar locality of Patna. Rahul Gupta works as a property dealer. On Saturday night around 10 o’clock, he was going from Patna to Raxaul after booking a sleeper bus. During this, an incident of Rs 30 lakh robbery of businessman Rahul Gupta took place near Janpul Chowk of Motihari city.
Police detained 4 people
Seeing the police station’s patrol team at Janpul Chowk, a short distance from the spot, the businessman narrated his ordeal. On the other hand, regarding this matter, Motihari Sadar SDPO Raj said that 4 people are being interrogated in the incident by taking them into custody. Along with this, the CCTV footage installed around the incident site is being scrutinised. Many people are looking suspicious. Soon the incident will be disclosed.
