This is the first time in almost 2 decades that a tiger has been seen here.

Nanda wrote on social media X, ‘It is a pleasure to inform that after almost two decades, a tiger has been captured on camera in Sundergarh district. NTCA’s Tiger Cell confirmed that it has moved out of Sanjay Dubri TR. He must have traveled a few hundred miles to establish his new territory in Odisha. welcome.’

This species of Black Panther is also found in Kerala, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Tiger numbers are increasing rapidly
The number of tigers in India is increasing very fast. According to a report by the Central Government, the number of tigers has increased by more than 200 in the last four years. While in 1973 the number of tigers in the country was only 268, in 2022 this number has reached 3167. Madhya Pradesh is on top in this matter. There are 785 tigers present there. Karnataka is at second place, where there are 563 tigers. Their number is 560 in Uttarakhand and 444 in Maharashtra.
